As an artist I have worked extensively in watercolors and other media for many years but lately my focus has been on scratchboard, it has become one of my favorite mediums. I love the drama of the stark black and white and the precise detail that can be achieved with it. I also will sometimes add color with specially formulated colored scratchboard inks. I can describe my art style as realistic and my subject matter includes landscapes, florals, still life and I also do commissioned portraits of people and animals. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life ( I was born in Seattle ). I try to depict the beautiful scenery where I live in my landscapes. I also feature animals in many of my scratchboard pieces as well as still life, florals and other subject matter that interests me. My work has won several awards and has been shown in various gallery shows over the years. I also have work featured in art magazines and a book of acrylic art.

For many years I worked on the art staff of various companies as an illustrator and graphic designer. For the last 7 years of my graphic design career I was a senior concept designer for Funko, a collectible toy company in Everett until experiencing a layoff in 2020 due to Covid 19. Now I work part time as a school bus driver for the Mukilteo School District. I live in Everett, WA where I do art every chance I get and I’m happily married to my wonderful wife and best friend Rita and we share our home with our beloved black cat, Mr. Boo.
